Arizona Game and Fish Department Adobe Mountain Wildlife

Arizona Game and Fish Department Adobe Mountain Wildlife
Center has been serving the state for 26 years doing
wildlife and environmental education. We rehabilitate
wildlife to return it to the wild. The animals that are
not released are used for education. We go to schools,
civic events and other venues educating the citizens of
Arizona.
Arizona Game and Fish Department Operation Game Thief

The Operation Game Thief Program is
wildlife’s 911. It is a Silent Witness program where the
public can report wildlife violations 24-7 to the
Arizona Game and Fish Department. Callers can remain
anonymous or confidential and are protected under state
law. Cash rewards are offered to persons reporting a
violation if an arrest is made in the case.

The Arizona Riparian Council (ARC) was formed in 1986 as
a result of the increasing concern over the alarming
rate of loss of Arizona's riparian areas. It is
estimated that <10% of Arizona's original riparian
acreage remains in its natural form. These habitats are
considered Arizona's most rare natural communities. The
purpose
of the Council is to provide for the exchange of
information on the status, protection, and management of
riparian systems in Arizona. Any person or organization
interested in the management, protection, or scientific
study of riparian systems, or some related phase of
riparian conservation is eligible for membership.

Arizona State Parks protects and preserves 30 State
Parks and Natural Areas. The agency also includes the
State Trails Program, outdoor-related Grants Program,
the State Historic Preservation Office, as well as the
Off-Highway Vehicle Program, and more. Arizona State
Parks manages 8 of the top 25 most visited natural
attractions in Arizona. Mission Statement: Managing and

Arizona Site Steward Program:
The Arizona Site Steward Program supports cultural
resource protection, preservation and education through
a corps of statewide volunteers with the cooperation of
public land managers of Arizona.

The Arizona National
Scenic Trail is a continuous, 800+ mile diverse and
scenic non-motorized trail across Arizona from Mexico to
Utah. It links deserts, mountains, canyons, communities
and people. Currently 95% of the trail is complete.
The Arizona Trail Association's mission is to
build, maintain, promote, protect and sustain the
Arizona National Scenic Trail as a unique encounter with
the land.
Current missions include flood control, navigation,
military construction, regulatory permitting, emergency
operations, engineering design and environmental

Meet Hualapai, a former wild range burro and Tom Taylor,
her adopter. Both are volunteers for Bureau of Land
Management’s Wild horse and Burro Program. We will have
information about wild horses and burro adoptions. We
will be at the festival both days.

wastewater services for the citizens of Avondale.
In an effort to help extend our natural resource
– water- we

regardless of the amount of available water and
providing the information and inspiration needed—to save
water. Each drop
of water reused, recharged and recycled is another form
of creating a sustainable environment for the future.

The City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department’s
Natural Resources Division provides resource-based

City’s park system.
Ranger-led interpretive and educational programs

protecting the physical and biological integrity of the
City’s preserves.
Hiking and recreation opportunities exist in over
30,000 acres of open space in the Phoenix Mountains
Preserve, Papago Park, Camelback Mountain, South
Mountain Park / Preserve, Camp Colley, and the Rio
Salado Habitat Restoration Area.

Tres Rios Constructed Demonstration Wetlands Project:
The
Hayfield Site includes two
fully matured wetland cells that have been in operation
for fourteen years. This project has been instrumental
in developing the science of water quality and habitat
restoration in regards to constructed wetlands. The site
has many public uses such as a riparian corridor trail
system, birding opportunities and picnic areas.
Research conducted in the Demonstration Project
is being used to design and construct a Full-Scale
Wetlands Project located across the street, which will
be available to the public in the near future.

treatment, food, housing for orphaned, injured and
displaced birds. They release many displaced birds back

homes for neglected, injured or otherwise abused pet
birds that are not native to the Sonoran desert.
