Arizona Animal Welfare League and SPCA (www.aawl.org): Arizona Animal Welfare League and SPCA is Arizona’s largest and oldest no kill dog and cat shelter. We pride ourselves on providing education for the proper treatment of all animals including pet care, conservation and wildlife and pet coexistence. 

Arizona Archaeological Society, Agua Fria Chapter (www.azarchsoc.org/aguafriachapter.html): The Agua Fria chapter of the Arizona Archaeological Society educates the public about the fascinating ancient cultural resources to be found in the Phoenix basin, including ruins, rock art, and museums.  Hands-on educational activities will be provided to help children learn about rock art and ancient cultures.  Displays of

simulated artifacts and information about chapter activities will also be provided.

Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (www.azdeq.gov): The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality protects public health, welfare and the environment by establishing and ensuring compliance with standards of quality for Arizona’s air, land and water; advancing public policy; and encouraging participation through statewide outreach. 

Arizona Falconers Association (www.azfalconersassoc.org): Falconry is the art and sport of hunting wild quarry with a trained bird of prey. Falconry is the world’s oldest field sport, having been practiced for thousands of years. The purpose of the Arizona Falconers' Association is to provide communication and interaction among interested members; to promote the ethical and legal pursuit of falconry as a recognized field sport; to promote the use of sound biological principles and information in the management of raptor populations and falconry; and to encourage programs of public education, scientific study and habitat conservation which advance the welfare of falconry and birds of prey. 

Arizona Game and Fish Department Adobe Mountain Wildlife Center (www.azgfd.gov/wildlifecenter): Arizona Game and Fish Department Adobe Mountain Wildlife Center has been serving the state for 26 years doing wildlife and environmental education. We rehabilitate wildlife to return it to the wild. The animals that are not released are used for education. We go to schools, civic events and other venues educating the citizens of Arizona. 

Arizona Game and Fish Department Operation Game Thief (www.azgfd.gov/ogt):  The Operation Game Thief Program is wildlife’s 911. It is a Silent Witness program where the public can report wildlife violations 24-7 to the Arizona Game and Fish Department. Callers can remain anonymous or confidential and are protected under state law. Cash rewards are offered to persons reporting a violation if an arrest is made in the case. 

Arizona Game and Fish Department Watchable Wildlife Program (www.agfd.gov/wildlife): Information will be provided on all things related to watching wildlife. There will be activities, nature tourism information and related publications.  

Arizona Game Ranger Lodge FOP#71: Monitoring and embracing wildlife resources for current and future generations is an ever-increasing challenge as Arizona’s human population grows.  By actively pursuing the AGRL goals and objectives, Arizona Game Rangers, who make this organization effective, provide the frontline defense for protecting wildlife resources.

The Arizona Game Ranger Lodge FOP #71 was formed to support and protect the Game Rangers who have the responsibility for managing these resources.

 

Arizona Public Service (www.aps.com): Come visit the APS booth, where experts will be on hand to provide education about ways to save energy and live a greener lifestyle with help from APS.  Learn about APS Green Choice programs and rebates for solar energy and energy efficiency options such as high efficiency lighting and AC equipment.  You can also play to win a free energy efficient CFL light bulb that can save you up to $30 in home energy costs. 

Arizona Riparian Council (www.azriparian.org): The Arizona Riparian Council (ARC) was formed in 1986 as a result of the increasing concern over the alarming rate of loss of Arizona's riparian areas. It is estimated that <10% of Arizona's original riparian acreage remains in its natural form. These habitats are considered Arizona's most rare natural communities. The purpose of the Council is to provide for the exchange of information on the status, protection, and management of riparian systems in Arizona. Any person or organization interested in the management, protection, or scientific study of riparian systems, or some related phase of riparian conservation is eligible for membership. 

Arizona State Parks (www.azstateparks.gov): Arizona State Parks protects and preserves 30 State Parks and Natural Areas. The agency also includes the State Trails Program, outdoor-related Grants Program, the State Historic Preservation Office, as well as the Off-Highway Vehicle Program, and more. Arizona State Parks manages 8 of the top 25 most visited natural attractions in Arizona. Mission Statement: Managing and conserving Arizona’s natural, cultural and recreational resources for the benefit of the people, both in our Parks and through our Partners. 

Arizona Site Steward Program: The Arizona Site Steward Program supports cultural resource protection, preservation and education through a corps of statewide volunteers with the cooperation of public land managers of Arizona. 

Arizona Trail Association (www.aztrail.org):  The Arizona National Scenic Trail is a continuous, 800+ mile diverse and scenic non-motorized trail across Arizona from Mexico to Utah. It links deserts, mountains, canyons, communities and people. Currently 95% of the trail is complete.  The Arizona Trail Association's mission is to build, maintain, promote, protect and sustain the Arizona National Scenic Trail as a unique encounter with the land.

Current missions include flood control, navigation, military construction, regulatory permitting, emergency operations, engineering design and environmental restoration.  

Arizona Wilderness Coalition (www.azwild.org): The Arizona Wilderness Coalition's (AWC) mission is to permanently protect and restore Wilderness and other wild lands and waters in Arizona for the enjoyment of all citizens and to ensure that Arizona's native plants and animals have a lasting home in wild nature. 

Bureau of Land Management/Wild Horse and Burro Program (www.wildhorseandburro.blm.gov): Meet Hualapai, a former wild range burro and Tom Taylor, her adopter. Both are volunteers for Bureau of Land Management’s Wild horse and Burro Program. We will have information about wild horses and burro adoptions. We will be at the festival both days. 

City of Avondale Recycling Program (www.avondale.org): Booth will give examples of what we offer for curbside recycling to include glass, plastics #1’s and #2’s, cardboard, paper, tin, aluminum, and chipboard. 

City of Avondale Water Resources Department (www.avondale.org): The Water Resources Department works to ensure an adequate, safe, and efficient water supply and wastewater services for the citizens of Avondale.  In an effort to help extend our natural resource – water- we  provide Avondale residents a comprehensive water conservation program that promotes efficient water use by promoting conservation techniques year-round regardless of the amount of available water and providing the information and inspiration needed—to save water. Each drop of water reused, recharged and recycled is another form of creating a sustainable environment for the future.  

City of Goodyear Public Works (www.goodyearaz.gov): Municipal environmental services.  

City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department Natural Resources Division (http://phoenix.gov/PARKS/hikemain.html): The City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department’s Natural Resources Division provides resource-based recreational opportunities while increasing the public’s knowledge and appreciation of natural open spaces in the City’s park system.  Ranger-led interpretive and educational programs are offered throughout the year while maintaining and protecting the physical and biological integrity of the City’s preserves.  Hiking and recreation opportunities exist in over 30,000 acres of open space in the Phoenix Mountains Preserve, Papago Park, Camelback Mountain, South Mountain Park / Preserve, Camp Colley, and the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area.  

City of Phoenix Tres Rios Constructed Demonstration Project (www.tresrios.net): Tres Rios Constructed Demonstration Wetlands Project:  The Hayfield Site includes two fully matured wetland cells that have been in operation for fourteen years. This project has been instrumental in developing the science of water quality and habitat restoration in regards to constructed wetlands. The site has many public uses such as a riparian corridor trail system, birding opportunities and picnic areas.  Research conducted in the Demonstration Project is being used to design and construct a Full-Scale Wetlands Project located across the street, which will be available to the public in the near future. 

City of Phoenix Water Services and Pollution Control (http://phoenix.gov/PCD/index.html): The City of Phoenix, Water Services, Pollution Control Division helps protect the Wastewater Treatment Plant, related sewer infrastructure, storm drain infrastructure and the environment through education, inspections, permitting and sampling activities. 

Desert Rivers Audubon Society (www.desertriversaudubon.org): Desert Rivers Audubon is a non-profit organization dedicated to bird and wildlife conservation, protecting the  Environment, and to education and outreach in the community.   Our goal is to get people of all ages outside, to learn respect and appreciation for all of our environmental world.  

Fallen Feathers Rescue, Rehabilitation & Education ( www.fallenfeathers.org): Fallen Feathers is a non-profit org. that cares for orphaned and injured wild birds with the hope of returning them back into the wild. They provide medical treatment, food, housing for orphaned, injured and displaced birds. They release many displaced birds back into the wild (when appropriate) and find permanent homes for neglected, injured or otherwise abused pet birds that are not native to the Sonoran desert. 

First Credit Union: First Credit Union was the first credit union formed in Arizona in 1929. First Credit Union is a not-for-profit organization. Our motto is “First in Arizona-First in Service.” 

Flood Control District of Maricopa County (www.fcd.maricopa.gov): Since 1959, the Flood Control District of Maricopa County has been responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of comprehensive flood hazard control measures in Maricopa County. The District is tasked to provide regional flood hazard identification, regulation, remediation, and education to Maricopa County residents so that they can reduce their risk of injury, death, and property damage from flooding, while still enjoying the natural and beneficial values served by floodplains. 

Friends of Saddle Mountain (www.fosaz.org): Friends of Saddle Mountain invite you to stop by and learn about Saddle Mountain and pick-up brochures, maps, bookmarks, and liter bags.  

Friends of the West Valley Recreation Corridor (http://www.friendsofwvrc.org): The Friends of the West Valley Recreation Corridor is a non-profit organization which is working along 43 miles of the Agua Fria and New Rivers in the West Valley to promote hiking trails, recreational areas and habitat restoration and educational opportunities for residents along this area from Avondale up to Lake Pleasant.    Working in conjunction with Maricopa County Flood Control District and the Arizona Rock Products Association and inspired by the vision of the late John F. Long. 

Go Green World Products (www.gogreenworldproducts.com): Go Green World Products is a Service Connected Disabled American Veteran Owned Company located in a HUB Zone. Weather Government, Commercial or Residential GGWP offers products to improve today’s and tomorrow’s environment. 

Liberty Water (www.libertywater.com): Liberty Water is a private water and wastewater utility with 18 locations around the United States. We understand that water matters everyday and that we all share a role in protecting this precious resource. Liberty water Avondale operates a 4.1 million gallons a day reclamation facility that supplies class A+ water to many golf courses and discharges unsold water into the RID canal, where it eventually recharges the ground water. Liberty Water’s core values of service, care, responsibility, quality, community and family are carried though out everything we do as we strive to bring safe, clean drinking water and responsible wastewater management to our communities. 

Liberty Wildlife Rehabilitation Foundation (www.libertywildlife.org): Liberty Wildlife is committed to nurturing the nature of Arizona by providing quality wildlife rehabilitation, conservation and environmental education for the community.  Our Educational program believes strongly in connecting children with the natural world. Our Education group visits classroom and civic event settings with non-releasable wildlife. Well-trained presenters teach about the natural history of each animal, and tell how each came to be at Liberty Wildlife. They explain the place that the animal holds in the desert ecosystem, and point out adaptations to desert life. We explain the pressures that humanity places on the desert. It is a strong message of conservation delivered under the glowing yellow eyes of a great horned owl...or in the presence of any of the Liberty education ambassadors.

Maricopa Association of Governments (http://www.mag.maricopa.gov/display.cms): The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) is a Council of Governments (COG) that serves as the regional agency for the metropolitan Phoenix area.  MAG is the designated metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for transportation planning in the Maricopa County region. MAG in partnership with ADOT has implemented the program, DON’T TRASH ARIZONA, to bring education and awareness to the effects of litter on the roadways. 

Maricopa County Attorney’s Office (www.maricopacountyattorney.org): The Maricopa County Attorney is dedicated to the vigorous prosecution of those who commit crimes within the county. As the chief advocate for the State and the citizens of the community in criminal matters, the County Attorney seeks to provide the highest quality service and to maintain the integrity of the criminal justice system. Criminals must be held accountable, while assuring that the statutory rights and emotional needs of the victims and witnesses are properly addressed. Additionally, the County Attorney seeks to implement, promote and participate in programs that reduce crime and enhance the quality of community life. The County Attorney also contributes to excellence in local government by providing complete legal services to the county, its Officers and political subdivisions. 

Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department-(www.maricopa.gov/parks): From hiking on a barrier-free trail, to horseback riding along a creek, Maricopa County Parks offer visitors the best of the Sonoran Desert. At approximately 120,000 acres, Maricopa County is home to one of the largest regional park systems in the United States. Ten parks in the system circle the metropolitan area and all are within a 45-minute drive from downtown Phoenix. 

Maricopa County Solid Waste Management-(www.swm.maricopa.gov): Maricopa County Solid Waste Management manages and maintains 10 closed landfills, 6 Waste Disposal and Recycling Centers and a Waste Tire Recycling Program.  We provide public education and outreach on waste issues, as well as coordinate community clean ups and Household Hazardous Waste events. Our events, cleanups, waste disposal and recycling centers, and outreach programs are available to all Maricopa County residents. 

Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audubon Center (www.az.audubon.org): “Connecting People with Nature” Audubon Arizona’s mission is to further the protection of birds, other wildlife and their habitats through science, advocacy and conservation for the benefit of humanity and the earth’s biological diversity. 

Recreational Equipment, Inc. (www.REI.com/tempe): REI is an outdoor retail co-op dedicated to inspiring, educating and offering high-quality outdoor gear and clothing to its more than 2 million active members and the community for a lifetime of outdoor adventures.  Founded in 1938 by a group of Pacific Northwest mountaineers seeking quality equipment, REI is committed to promoting environmental stewardship and increasing access to outdoor recreation through volunteerism, gear donations and financial contributions. 

Rio Salado College (http://www.riosalado.edu/programs/sustainable/Pages/default.aspx): Sustainable Food Systems Program and Sustainable Gardening are a grounds up approach to participating in and learning more about the our complex food system.  Rio Salado College offers a hybrid program, with several online courses and an in-person gardening and cooking experience.  Students may earn a certificate or an associate’s degree in Sustainable Foods. Sonoran Audubon Society (www.sonoranaudubon.org): The Sonoran Audubon Society is dedicated to bringing to the public’s attention the decline in many of our bird species – what they are, how they have declined and what we can do about it. We also participate and lead in many of the Important Area Bird (IBA) counts in and around the valley. 

Stormwater Outreach for Regional Municipalities (www.azstorm.org): Stormwater Outreach for Regional Municipalities, known as STORM, is a regional organization promoting stormwater quality education within the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. STORM was founded in 2002, in response to federal regulations requiring certain municipalities to implement measures to educate the public on ways to protect the quality of stormwater runoff. 

The Nature Conservancy (www.nature.org/arizona/preserves): The Nature Conservancy is an international nonprofit conservation organization.  Its mission is to preserve the plants, animals, and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive.  The Conservancy’s Hassayampa River Preserve near Wickenburg is a lush streamside habitat that boasts one of the few stretches of the Hassayampa River where water flows above ground all year long.  It provides a home to many of the desert’s most spectacular wildlife, including more than 270 species of birds that live, nest or migrate along its riparian corridor. 

The University of Arizona’s Water Sustainability Program, Master Watershed Stewards and Arizona Project WET (http://www.wsp.arizona.edu/  and http://cals.arizona.edu/maricopa/ and  http://cals.arizona.edu/arizonawet/):  The University of Arizona’s Water Sustainability Program provides science-based technical, economic, legal, and policy expertise necessary for water development, use, and conservation in a rapidly growing, increasingly urban state.  We serve Maricopa County through the Arizona Cooperative Extension office in Phoenix.  Programs that promote water conservation and water quality awareness include Arizona Project WET and Master Watershed Stewards, among others.

 

US Army Corps of Engineers: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District encompasses 226,000 sq miles in 4 states, and has been providing engineering services since 1898. 

USDA-APHIS-Wildlife Services (http://www.aphis.usda.gov/wildlife_damage): USDA-APHIS-Wildlife Services provides Federal leadership and expertise to resolve wildlife conflicts and create a balance that allows people and wildlife to coexist peacefully.

Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium (www.wildlifeworld.com): Wildlife world zoo and aquarium has the largest collection of exotics in Arizona. It is designed to get an up close and personal look at the animals. We have many hands on and interactive things to do at the Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium. We are open every day of the year!
