Canoe Excursions
Join us “Down by the River” to learn about safe canoeing from Arizona Game and Fish boating safety volunteers and experience the joy of paddling your own canoe around the small lake at the B&M Wildlife Area. Enjoy the serenity of being on the water, get close to birds and animals, watch the fish below you and generally enjoy the great weather and natural surroundings!

Early Birding Tours
Join volunteers from the Sonoran Audubon Chapter for a dawn tour of the festival vicinity along the Salt and Gila Rivers. This is your chance to see the birds and other wildlife of the area at their best, prior to the arrival of the festival crowd. Participation is by pre-registration only and is limited to 15 participants each day. Pre-register by email to McBobAZ@aol.com . Please state which day (Saturday or Sunday) you plan to attend this activity. Bring your binoculars, field guides and comfortable hiking shoes.

Hikes
Guided hikes and walks will be offered during the festival. This year the hike to Monument Hill is a must do. It is located at the eastern edge of the B&M Wildlife Area – this Arizona significant site will open your eyes to the history of the area. Also, the 1.5 mile nature trail will be a hit. Walk the trail or take the hay wagon ride around the site.

Nature Trail & Beginning Bird Watching
Join festival and Audubon Society experts for Beginning Birdwatching Field Instruction. Fixed observation stations and small group excursions will allow visitors to observe the abundant wildlife of the area, and talk to experts about how to identify the birds or animal evidence observed, and details of their natural history.  Learn More >>
